VINCELOT'S DELIGHT AT PENNING NEW CONTRACT

3 August 2017

Bantams skipper Romain Vincelot has spoken of his delight after committing his future to the football club with a new contract extension.

On the eve of the new Sky Bet League One season, Vincelot has put pen to paper on a fresh two-year contract at the Northern Commercials Stadium.

The Frenchman's original City deal was due to expire at the end of the 2017/2018 season but he is now contracted to the club for a further year.

City boss Stuart McCall has confirmed that Vincelot will once again captain the side for the new campaign, and the player himself can't wait to get started.

Vincelot said: "I am really happy here and I would like to thank the club for getting this new deal sorted.

"I am very settled and I can see the potential around the club.

"With this deal now signed, I can go into the new season just concentrating on my football.

"I don't have to get to December and January and start to wonder about my future

"I am fully focused for these next two years with the club - let's see where we can take it.

"It has been a tough pre-season and we are ready to go for the new season.

"We are looking forward to the competition and playing for the three points again.

"Playing in front of those big crowds again - this is when football really comes alive."
