Stuart McCall's Bantams travel to Gillingham this Saturday (12 August 2017) for their first away match of the new 2017/2018 Sky Bet League One campaign.
The trip to Gillingham is set to be one of City's longest of the season but McCall's men will travel there in high spirits after collecting a win in their season opener last weekend against Blackpool.
Even the midweek defeat to Doncaster Rovers in the Carabao Cup included a number of positives, with strikers Dominic Poleon and Alex Jones opening their account for the season.
For opponents Gillingham, Saturday's game will their first home match of the season.
The Gills followed up a goalless draw at Doncaster Rovers on the opening day with a 2-0 loss at Reading in the Carabao Cup.
City's visit to Gillingham last season ended in a 1-1 draw in a match also played fairly early into the campaign.
Cody McDonald gave the hosts an early lead in the September fixture but Jordy Hiwula levelled for the Bantams later in the first period.
Billy Bingham (foot) and Alex Lacey (knee) will be assessed pre-match to see if they will have any chance of being involved at the weekend.
Luke O’Neill received a knock on Tuesday evening but should recover while Lee Martin (knee) is also due to feature having received stitches after last weekend’s game at Doncaster.
Mark Byrne and Gabriel Zakuani will be looking to return to the Gills' starting XI.
Byrne was an unused substitute midweek, while Zakuani was rested.
Two former Gills - Romain Vincelot and Adam Chicksen - will both miss out on a trip to one of their old clubs.
Chicksen misses out with a fractured cheekbone, while Vincelot begins a three-match suspension.
Charlie Wyke (hamstring) is also still ruled out.
Shay McCartan is back in contention, however, after sitting out in midweek as a precaution due to a tight hamstring.
Paul Taylor made his competitive debut for City off the bench against Doncaster on Tuesday night and is likely to be included in the squad again.
The duo will now do battle with the likes of Alex Jones, Dominic Poleon and Omari Patrick for a place in City's attack.
