AWAY FANS' GUIDE | CHESTERFIELD

28 August 2017

Stuart McCall's Bantams travel to Chesterfield this Tuesday (29 August 2017) to begin their Checkatrade Trophy campaign for the 2017/2018 season.

For those travelling to the Proact Stadium on Tuesday evening (kick off 7:00pm), please see below for some relevant match-day information.

Capacity: 10,400 (all seated)
Address: Sheffield Road, Chesterfield, S41 8NZ
Telephone: 01246 269300

The Proact Stadium is a 10,000 all seater stadium which opened July 2010. It is situated on the outskirts of the town at Whittington Moor. The postcode is S41 (8NZ for older satellite navigation systems, please use S41 8LF).

Directions

Leave the M1 at Junction 29 and take the A617 towards Chesterfield. At the end of the dual carriageway at the edge of the town centre, turn right onto the A61 towards Sheffield.

At the first roundabout turn left and the stadium is down on the right. For the main entrance turn right into Sheffield Road and then right again into the club car park.

Car Parking

The club car park is for permit holders only. There is nearby street parking available on side roads off the Sheffield road, if you arrive early enough. Please don't park in the nearby Tesco store, as this area is only for short-stays and is patrolled on a match-day.

Train

Chesterfield Railway Station is walk-able from the Proact Stadium, although it will take you between 20 and 30 minutes to walk to do so. Other options include the taxi rank positioned outside the train station and bus stops within the town centre.

Away Section

City supporters will be housed in the Rubicon Print Stand at the north end of the stadium.

Food & Drink

A pub recommended for away supporters is the Rutland Arms on Stephenson Place in Chesterfield. If you arrive by train and walk towards the town centre it's just upon on your left.

Another option near to the ground (just across from Sheffield Road) is the Spireite Pub. This particular pub welcomes home and away supporters.

Along with a couple of Fish & Chips positioned nearby to the stadium, there is also a large Tesco superstore positioned directly to the side of the Proact Stadium.

Other food options around the local area close to the ground include a KFC and a Sainsbury supermarket.
