Stuart McCall's Bantams suffered a difficult afternoon at the home of the newly-crowned champions, as a jubilant Sheffield United side celebrated their deserved title success with a dominant display.
The damage for City was all done in the first period, with the Blades netting three unanswered goals in the Yorkshire derby before the break.
Goals from United strikers Leon Clarke and Billy Sharp put the hosts in the driving seat by the twenty-minute mark.
McCall responded by bringing on Alex Jones for Timothee Dieng shortly afterwards. The substitution did spark some response from the Bantams as Charlie Wyke and James Meredith went close but United still managed to make the game safe shortly before the break.
Clarke netted his second of the game and the Blades' third for the afternoon three minutes before the interval after he was picked out by Sharp following a swift counter-attack from the home side.
Looking for some consolation in the second period, City began brightly after the restart and Tony McMahon forced a decent save out of Blades' shot-stopper Simon Moore.
Despite City's best efforts though, United still looked comfortable as the game progressed and they could have troubled the scorers again on more than one occasion through Sharp.
The Bantams had one last chance to pull a goal back two minutes from the end but McMahon fired over from a decent position inside the box.
