DEVINE 'OVER THE MOON' WITH NEW DEAL

12 October 2016

It was revealed yesterday that academy graduate midfielder Daniel Devine had signed a new three-year contract that will keep him with the club until at least 2019. He spoke exclusively with us after putting pen to paper in a deal which has capped a hugely exciting start to the 2016/17 season for the Bradford born 18 year old.

'I'm over the moon to have signed a new three year contract with the club. If you'd have told me back in June when I signed my first professional contract, that come October I'd have been signing a new three year deal, I'd have just laughed in your face. I can't believe what has happened over the last few months.'

'The start to the season I've had, playing in 10 matches, is more than what I expected in the summer. I'd have taken playing 10 games all season if it was offered to me at the beginning of the season. To have played that many games by the start of October - I'm over the moon with the amount of games I've played already.'

'Signing this contract gives me a real opportunity to focus on improving my game because I know the gaffer and everyone at the club has got faith in me and faith in my ability and what I can do. it gives me more freedom to express myself on the pitch even more because I don't have to worry about getting a new contract at the end of the season.'

'All the lads have played their part in the start to the season we have had, we'll take each game as it comes and hopefully we can continue our great unbeaten run going down at Oxford this weekend.'

'I just want to kick on now and hopefully get back into the team as soon as I can, I want to get back into the team and then stay there. First and foremost I want to help the boys get to where they and the club deserve to be.'
