Tonight’s edition of our official match-day programme, ‘The Parader’ will be a tribute to the late Bobby Campbell, a man who is regarded as one of the greatest players in the club’s history.
The front cover of the issue will feature an image of Bobby from during his playing days here at Bradford City in the 1980s. Tributes are paid to him by the manager Stuart McCall as well as plenty more of his former team-mates in a double page, centre-spread feature which also includes a collage of photos of the Northern Irishman.
Bobby has been included in tonight’s squad list on the back of the programme and has been inserted just below current City number nine James Hanson, the recently passed frontman of course also donned this shirt number during his playing days. On the back of the programme, just below the squads are the words ‘This programme is dedicated to the late, great Bobby Campbell. Rest in Peace – 1956-2016.’
Plenty of the regular contributors to the programme have all included meaningful tributes to the City great and he’s been included in Anthony Nicholl’s ‘My City XI’ alongside Dean Windass in a regular feature which sees Bradford City supporters talk us through their lifetime supporting the club.
Features in this evening’s programme include the usual look at Northampton Town’s key players, the manager and the rest of the squad. Also in the opposition section is five interesting facts about Northampton Town and a look back at one of the club’s most memorable campaigns.
An interview with City goalkeeper Colin Doyle is featured inside following his spell away with the Republic of Ireland national team. Doyle then tells us a bit more about his football origins in ‘The Beautiful Game’ and find out which particular, eye sore of a goalkeeping shirt he owned with fondness during the 1990s.
There’s a report and images from the recent emphatic home victory against Rochdale and also a report from the academy’s recent FA Youth Cup progression against Boston United. Children will be kept entertained by the Junior Bantams double page spread which includes a ‘Spot the Difference’.
