City plan to pay a special tribute to Campbell, who sadly died last week, ahead of the kick off against Northampton Town at the Northern Commercials Stadium this Tuesday.
With the game scheduled to start at 7:45pm, the club are asking as many supporters as possible to be in the stadium fifteen minutes beforehand.
McCall is aware that the night will be an emotionally-charged one as fans pay their respects but he feels it is important that everyone within the ground tries their best to make it a celebratory occasion.
The City chief also wants his players to play their part by putting on a performance befitting of the legendary former number nine.
McCall said: "I'm sure Tuesday will be an emotional night for many supporters and staff following the sad passing of 'Big Bob'.
"He was a great character both on and off the pitch, and a terrific centre forward.
"We want the night to be a celebratory occasion though, not a sombre one. I'm sure that is what Bobby's family would want as well.
"I think it is fitting that we have a minute's applause and not a minute's silence ahead of kick off. I don't think there was ever a minute that was silent when Bobby was around.
"Tuesday will be an opportunity to celebrate his colourful life and to remember all of his great moments.
"We want to put in an aggressive and courageous performance that hopefully Bob himself would have been proud of.
"The aim is to get on the front-foot, get some balls in the box and really put them (Northampton) under some pressure to try and get the right result for us."
Along with the chance to commemorate one of the club's most popular and successful ever players, Tuesday's home encounter with Northampton Town gives McCall's men the opportunity to get back to winning ways quickly after the loss to Southend United at the weekend.
McCall: "I know there will be some frustration around after the disappointment of Saturday but we must move on and focus on producing a positive response against Northampton Town.
"Northampton are a very hard-working and well organised side. I know Rob (Page, Northampton Town manager) well from our time together at Sheffield United.
"He is a good football man and he has took to management well.
"We are expecting another tight and challenging game but we will also be looking for a reaction from the group."
