NEW ERA, NEW STRIPES

27 May 2016

It has been a momentous week at Bradford City, that's for sure. This week has seen the beginning of a new era with Edin Rahic and Stefan Rupp as the new owners of this historic football club and our new kits for the upcoming 2016-17 season are on the verge of being revealed.

A new era but a return to stripes with a unique diagonal design that certainly catches the eye. All three of the kits will be displayed to the viewing public later today (6pm), however not all three of the kits will be available to purchase at the same time. For more details on how to buy you new Avec Bradford City kit and when you're able to do so, please see the section at the bottom end of this article.

Having had the kit manufactured by Nike since 2011, the decision has been made to now have the kit manufactured by Avec - a company who have a strong association with Nike and can produce bespoke, high quality attire for football clubs, like ourselves here at Bradford City. For the last four seasons, the kit has been a Nike template design with the club's bespoke colours, but with Avec, the club have been able to have a bespoke design using our distinguishable Claret and Amber colours. You're not likely to see another kit like ours this coming season.

The club will also continue their long-standing partnership with JCT600 who will be the main shirt sponsor for the fourth consecutive season, having taken over from Map Group (UK) ahead of the 2013-14 season. Continuing the 'new era' theme, we are delighted that one of the club's partners, Mitton Group, will take over from AutoElectro as the new back of the shirt sponsor. We would like to place on record our thanks to Tony and Paul Bhogal at Autoelectro for all their support in recent years, having become the back of the shirt sponsor during the 2013-14 season.

Earlier in the week, the photo-shoot for the kit launch took place at The Coral Windows Stadium, with well-known first team players, Filipe Morais, Paul Anderson and James Meredith agreeing to take part in the shoot. We thank the players for their time and effort in helping us to make sure that the launch will go exactly as we plan it to.

And the initial reaction from the players bodes well with Filipe and Paul speaking exclusively to Bantams Player HD to tell us exactly what they think of the new kits.

Filipe said:

'They look great and feel nice to wear. The design is something different for this season - it is good to be different.'

'I think the kits will be something the fans will like - I'm sure they will be queuing up to get them!'

'Hopefully we can have some success in these kits. We will certainly be striving to be the best we can be this coming season.'

Paul shared a similar view to his team-mate, saying:

'I really like all three kits. They all have a great colour combination and they seem a good fit as well, which is important for the lads.'

'It is nice to see all the kits incorporate the Claret and Amber colours in them in some way, even the two away kits. It is always good to have those small details in there.'

'Having a kit that you feel confident in and look good in, is important. These kits look fantastic and I'm looking forward to wearing them.'
