Evans was given a straight red card just minutes into the second period at Vale Park after a lunging challenge on Vale midfielder Anthony Grant.
If, as expected, the red card is marked down as 'violent conduct, it will mean the Welshman will now have to serve a three-match ban.
Those three games will be Tuesday's home match with Barnsley, Fleetwood Town's trip to the Coral Windows Stadium next Saturday and the Bantams' match away at Burton Albion the week after.
