Attendance: 17,554 (130 visitors)

The Bantams secured a morale-boosting home victory over Fleetwood Town thanks a dramatic injury time winner from City substitute Steven Davies.

Davies netted his first goal in City colours when he swooped to fire home from close range after debutant Wes Thomas' 93rd minute strike had deflected off Fleetwood 'keeper Chris Maxwell and up onto the crossbar.

The goal sparked joyous scenes around the Coral Windows Stadium, and it came shortly after the recalled Billy Knott had been denied by a fine save from Maxwell at point blank range following the 'keeper's spill from a Tony McMahon's free-kick.

In low-key opening period, genuine scoring chances were hard to come by for both sides but City did see a goal disallowed just before the break from a Morris corner.

Fleetwood's Jamille Matt gave the visitors the lead just before the hour mark when his glancing header beat Ben Williams and found the bottom corner following Jimmy Ryan's ball from deep into the box.

City equalised just eight minutes later, however, when Knott's searching cross found James Hanson unmarked and he headed past a rooted Maxwell from close range.

Hanson's seventh goal of the season looked set to ensure the game would finish honours even until the late drama in injury time brought City the three points.
