PARKINSON: WE HAVE TO BE READY TO ROLL OUR SLEEVES UP

5 February 2016

Bantams boss Phil Parkinson knows City will have to be ready for a physically tough encounter when they travel to top-of-the-table Burton Albion this Saturday (6 February 2016).

Fresh from their dramatic victory over Fleetwood Town last weekend, Parkinson's men will make the trip to the Pirelli Stadium looking for another three points to help maintain their push for the end-of-season Play-Offs.

This Saturday's match will be City's first at Burton since the Bantams memorably secured their place in the League 2 Play-Off Final back in May 2013 thanks to a 3-1 second leg victory over the Brewers.

With promotion-chasing Burton renowned for their hard pressing game and high tempo football, Parkinson is wary that City will need to show the same sort of fighting spirit if they want to pick up another positive result at the home the league leaders.

Parkinson said: "You have to give Burton credit, they have played brilliantly. Nigel (Clough) has come in and continued the good work done by Jimmy (Floyd Hasselbaink).

"We have to give them the utmost respect because at this stage of the season a team is up at the top of the league for a reason, and that is they are one of the best teams in the division.

"It will be a tough game but a challenge that we are looking forward to.

"We have to take the confidence we picked up from last Saturday's victory (over Fleetwood Town) into this match.

"The intensity we played at in that Play-Off semi-final is the sort of thing we will need to recreate come Saturday. It was a full-on, committed performance from the lads that day.

"Looking at Burton, they are a very hard-working, physical team and a lot of their success this season has been down to that team work ethic.

"We will have to go there and really match that at the weekend."
