VINCELOT 'CAN'T WAIT' FOR BOXING DAY ENCOUNTER

20 December 2016

Bantams skipper Romain Vincelot says the whole squad will be looking forward to City's 'special' Boxing Day encounter with league leaders Scunthorpe United at the Northern Commercials Stadium.

Normally a huge fans' favourite in the football schedule, the year's Boxing Day fixture has been made all the more attractive by the fact that it gives Stuart McCall's men the opportunity to pit their wits against the current pace-setters.

Due to last season's postponement, the Scunthorpe game will also be the Bantams' first game at Valley Parade on Boxing Day in three years.

A bumper crowd is expected inside the Northern Commercials Stadium for the eagerly-anticipated encounter, and Vincelot knows City cannot wait for the match to come around.

Vincelot said: "It is great to have such a big game at home on Boxing Day.

"I think the atmosphere in the stadium is going to be special - it is definitely a match we are looking forward to.

"I really can't wait for it.

"We did our best to get the three points on Saturday (at Walsall). We showed great desire and we really went for it - it was end-to-end stuff.

"It was a bit frustrating not to get all three points but we will keep looking for those wins next time out."
