OLDHAM ATHLETIC LINKS

The Bantams entertain Oldham Athletic at the Northern Commercials Stadium this Saturday (27 August 2016) for the 105th scheduled match between the two sides.

The game will also be the Bantams' seventh league encounter with Oldham since City's promotion to Sky Bet League One back in 2013.

In the City squad during their maiden season back in League One - the 2013/2014 campaign -  was current Oldham custodian Connor Ripley (pictured above).

Ripley, who is currently on loan at the Latics from Premier League side Middlesbrough, also had a loan spell away from the Riverside Stadium with City three years ago.

The 23 year-old kept goal only once during his time with the Bantams - City's away tie at Hartlepool United in the EFL Trophy - but he has featured in all six of Oldham's games so far this season.

Also in Oldham squad expected to travel to Valley Parade this Saturday is Josh Law, the younger brother of City midfielder Nicky Law.

The pair have met before on the football pitch when Josh's Motherwell met Nicky's Rangers in the Scottish Premiership Play-Offs back in May 2015.

Oldham striker Lee Erwin, currently on loan from Leeds United, was given his senior debut with Motherwell by Bantams boss Stuart McCall.

In another link between the two sides, Oldham winger Ryan Flynn played alongside City defender Stephen Darby in the same Liverpool side that won the FA Youth Cup in 2006 and 2007.

Paul Anderson was also in the Liverpool squad for the 2005/2006 FA Youth Cup campaign.

In the City camp, Bantams midfielder Timothee Dieng spent two years with Oldham before his move to the Northern Commercials Stadium during the summer.
