SKY RIDE AND SHEFFIELD UNITED MATCH INFORMATION

7 September 2015

Sunday 20th September 2015 will see two major sporting events taking place in the city of Bradford - the 6th Sky Ride event in the City Centre and Phil Parkinson's Bantams taking on Yorkshire neighbours Sheffield United at the Coral Windows Stadium.

Sky Ride Bradford

Sky Ride Bradford is a family-friendly big bike event, allowing people of all ages and abilities to get together and cycle a traffic-free route around the city centre.

All for free.

Sky Ride is part of the successful national campaign organised by Sky and British Cycling to get more people cycling.

Registration is open from 9:00am at City Park, with the event itself taking place from 10:00am until 2:00pm. There will be appointed pedestrian crossing points where people can cross the route safely.

Bradford City versus Sheffield United

With over 18,000 season tickets sold to City fans this summer and a good following expected from Sheffield United, supporters are requested to consider their travel plans to avoid the city centre where possible and to arrive at the stadium in good time for the 12noon kick-off.  Turnstiles at the stadium will be open from 10.30am.

Travelling to the events

Vehicle traffic on its way to the Sheffield United fixture should use the pre-signed routes which are located on the major roads to the stadium.

Supporters travelling by car are asked to use the Shipley Airedale Road off the M606 and follow any signs to the Coral Windows Stadium.

For the avoidance of doubt, it should be noted that Manningham Lane will be open to traffic and pedestrians on this date.

Sky Ride participants will be directed to city centre car parks.

Please be aware that there will be people travelling to Sky Ride by bike using local roads.

Parking facilities

Free parking is available at the Oastler car park from 9.30am and there are also several other 24-hour car parks available including the St Thomas, Rawson Road, Simmes Street and Wigan Street car parks.

More details of the event, including postcodes for these car parks, can be found on the Bradford Council’s website - please click .
