PITCH WORK CONTINUING

19 May 2015

As these latest images show, pitch renovation work at the Coral Windows Stadium is continuing at some pace this week.

Contractors working on behalf of the club started on the Valley Parade playing surface last Thursday. The work to improve and redevelop City's pitch is expected to last all of this week.

The pitch has already undergone a process known as 'koroing', while roughly 200 tones of fibre sand is scheduled to be laid on the playing surface later on. Work to improve pitch drainage in specific areas is now taking place.

Koroing is where the top layer of the pitch is removed to help with drainage and grass growth. Fibre sand is normally used to help with drainage as well while also improving the stability of the turf itself.
