10 things you should know about Jak Alnwick
1. He is the younger brother of Peterborough United goalkeeper Ben Alnwick who was on trial with the Bantams last summer.
2. Born in June 1993, he is 21 years of age.
3. He joined Newcastle United from bitter local rivals Sunderland in 2008 to join the club’s youth system.
4. Jak was born in Hexham, which is a small town in the county of Northumberland, 25 miles to the West of Newcastle.
5. During the 2011-12 season, Jak had a loan spell with Conference Premier side Gateshead and he made nine appearances for the club in all competitions.
6. Jak made his first team debut for Newcastle United as a half time substitute in a 2-1 Premier League victory against Chelsea in December 2014. It was the Blues’ first loss of the season.
7. Jak’s first start for Newcastle United was a week after the Chelsea game, but the result was a 4-1 away defeat to Arsenal.
8. He is capped by England at Under 17 and Under 18 levels respectively.
9. He has made nine first team appearances for Newcastle United to date.
