Davies returns to partner Rory McArdle in central defence, meaning Gary MacKenzie will begin the game from the bench.
New loan signing Tony McMahon is also among City's substitutes after arriving from Championship side Blackpool on Thursday.
With Andy Halliday struggling with a minor knock, the Scot misses out altogether, meaning apprentice winger Dylan Mottley-Henry is once again on the bench.
