Kennedy, 28, penned his loan move this Thursday morning which will keep him with the Cumbrians until Saturday 11 April 2015.
Subject to receiving the relevant clearances, the experienced midfielder will now be in line to make his Carlisle debut at York City this Saturday.
Kennedy has featured 26 times for Phil Parkinson's men this season, scoring twice. His most recent appearance for City came when he started at Peterborough United towards the back end of last month.
