DAVIES WON OVER BY BANTAMS BOSS

30 June 2015

New striker Steven Davies says it was the belief shown in him by Bantams boss Phil Parkinson that helped him to decide that joining City was the right move.

Davies became City's first signing of the summer this Tuesday after penning a one-year deal at the Coral Windows Stadium.

After training with his new team-mates for the first time at a sweltering Apperley Bridge, Davies sat down with Bantams PlayerHD to conduct his first video interview as a Bradford City player.

The 27 year-old said: "There was one or two other clubs interested in me and I went on holiday and had a good think about things.

"Having spoken with the manager previously though, I thought this is a club that has the same ambition as me.

"If you look at the squad that is already here, they just went a little bit short in the league last year. Hopefully with some of the additions the manager wants to bring in, we can now be right up there this year.

"It was nice to speak with a manager who believes in what you can do. One of the big reasons for me coming here was how highly the gaffer thought of me.

"He gave me the confidence to make me feel this was the right club to come to."
