Two second half goals from Peterborough United condemned City to defeat at the ABAX Stadium.

After a keenly-contested opening half, Peterborough took the lead of the match in fortunate circumstances seven minutes after the break when Jon Taylor's flighted wide free-kick delivery hit the unlucky City skipper Stephen Darby before bouncing over the line.

Phil Parkinson's men tried for a way back into the match - Andy Halliday volleying over from inside the area with one of City's better chances - but the game was effectively sealed for the Posh when Billy Knott was harshly penalised for handball inside the area in the ninetieth minute and Michael Bostwick smashed home the resulting spot-kick.

FT: Peterborough United 2 Bradford City 0
90+7min: Another Sheehan cross into the mix eventually drops at the feet of Knott inside the box but his effort is straight at Alnwick.
90+6min: Sheehan's hanging cross from deep into the box is punched down by Alnwick into the path of Clarke but the striker completely mis-times his shot from just inside the box and the chance is gone.
90+1min: SUB - The Bantams bring on Oliver McBurnie for Halliday.
90+1min: SUB - Peterborough bring on David Norris for Taylor.
90min: There will be six minutes of time added on
90min: GOAL - Peterborough United 2 Bradford City 0 - Bostwick blasts the resulting spot-kick down the middle to surely seal the points for the hosts.
90min: PENALTY TO PETERBOROUGH - The Posh have chance to seal it when Knott is adjudged to have handled inside the box as he tries to control a spinning ball around chest height.
86min: Clarke's clipped cross into the middle from near the byline finds Halliday unmarked but the Scot volley over from just inside the box.
85min: Halliday's searching cross from deep is dropped by Alnwick while under pressure from Stead but the 'keeper quickly regains his composure to dive at the feet of Clarke and gather up the ball before the striker can pounce.
82min: Yeates' searching pass forwards from deep finds the run of Davies but the defender's header over by the far post is straight into the clutches of Alnwick.
82min: SUB - Peterborough bring on Harry Anderson for James.
79min: Clarke's flighted ball into the box narrowly misses Zoko over by the far post before sailing out for a goal-kick.
76min: SUB - The Bantams bring on Mark Yeates for Jason Kennedy. The substitution took place during a fairly lengthy stoppage for James after he banged heads with Davies, coming off much worse in the process.
68min: SUB - Peterborough bring on Harry Beautyman for Vassell.
66min: SUB - The Bantams bring on Francois Zoko for Burke.
66min: Taylor's low teasing ball into the six yard box finds James but with McArdle putting him under pressure, the striker can bundle a close range shot straight into Pickford's arms.
65min: City briefly have to defend a free-kick in his absence, but Davies eventually back with his team-mates on the pitch following his treatment.
63min: Davies is down and receiving treatment after appearing to limp away from an aerial challenge with James.
61min: YELLOW CARD - Newell is booked now for the hosts, seemingly for a late tackle on Darby as the Bantams skipper kicked the ball up field around the halfway line.
57min: YELLOW CARD - Vassell is booked for a nasty late tackle on Andrew Davies just outside City's penalty area as the defender had looked to take advantage of a poor touch from the Peterborough striker and kick clear.
55min: Clarke's attempted delivery into the box from City's right flank actually goes towards Alnwick's goal before dropping onto the roof of his net with the 'keeper seriously back-pedalling.
52min: GOAL - Peterborough United 1 Bradford City 0 - The hosts take the lead when Taylor's flighted delivery into the box from a wide free-kick is bundled over the line by the far post by Zakuani seemingly via a touch off Darby.
49min: Michael Smith plays the ball across to Bostwick, who fires in a low curling drive from outside the box that narrowly wide of Pickford's far post.
47min: Pickford goes to kick Darby's back-pass up field but his attempted clearance is blocked by Vassell. Luckily for City though, the ball flies away from Pickford's net and out for a goal-kick.
46min: Peterborough restart the match.
HT: Peterborough United 0 Bradford City 0
40min: There is the slightly unusual sight of a drop-ball just inside City's penalty area when James falls on the ball while under pressure from McArdle and Billy Knott. City line up almost as if they are defending a free-kick in case they lose out on the 50-50 restart but the Bantams are actually able to clear their lines with a punt up field from McArdle.
28min: Newell's drive from outside the box is accidentally blocked by one of his own players and Pickford is able to gather up the loose ball inside City's area.
25min: After picking up a neat flick from Halliday inside the box, Alan Sheehan shoots on his favoured left foot but his low angled drive across goal is held by Alnwick.
17min: A hurried attempted kick clear from Pickford drops at the feet of Michael Bostwick about 40 yards from goal. With City on the back foot slightly, Bostwick drives forward into space before playing in Kyle Vassell inside the area. Vassell takes aim but with two City defenders for company, he can only blast high over the Bantams' bar from around fourteen yards out.
15min: Jon Taylor's searching cross into the area drops into the path of Jack Payne but his strike from deep inside City's own penalty box is bravely blocked by Stephen Darby.
13min: Latching onto Jon Stead's lay-off, Burke fires in a rising left-footed drive from just inside the area that goes just over Alnwick's crossbar.
10min: Gabriel Zakuani heads wide of Pickford's far post from a Joe Newell corner.
9min: After initially knocking the ball past Rory McArdle in a wide position, Luke James cuts inside and drives into the box before firing in a low shot that Jordan Pickford does well to turn past his near post with a fine reaction save.
5min: Billy Knott's delivery from the resulting corner is half-cleared by Peterborough as far as the lurking Oliver Burke, who fires a rising drive narrowly over Alnwick's bar from the edge of the area.
5min: Oh so nearly an own goal from Kgosi Ntlhe! A driving run from Andy Halliday sees the Scot fizz the ball across Peterborough's six yard box. Ntlhe, who is positioned over by the far post, looks to play it safe and put it out for a corner but his kick out of play goes merely inches wide of Alnwick's goal.
0min: The Bantams kick off the match.
