WE ARE GETTING THERE

4 August 2015

Bantams boss Phil Parkinson says progress is being made with the club's plans to strengthen the squad for the 2015/2016 campaign.

Talented winger Paul Anderson became Parkinson's seventh signing of the summer when he joined the Bantams on the eve of last Saturday's pre-season friendly at Burnley.

Buoyed by the arrival of the likes of Anderson, Parkinson believes the ability within the camp is certainly there but the City chief is still keen to add to the ranks.

Ahead of Saturday's season opener at Swindon Town, Parkinson says he remains on the lookout for new recruits.

Parkinson said: "We are slowly getting there.

"For a lot of the managers I have spoken to recently, they have all said that they have found it difficult to get deals done.

"For various reasons, it has been harder than ever really this summer.

"Our squad is taking shape but we are not there yet.

"The quality of the squad - our first eleven and the bench - is good but we need to add to the numbers.

"We need more depth to the squad and that is what we are working towards."
