BURKE RECEIVES ENGLAND CALL-UP

27 August 2015

Bantams loanee defender Reece Burke has been called up into the latest England Under 20s squad for their forthcoming international match with Czech Republic.

Burke, who made his City debut at Barnsley last Saturday after signing from West Ham United, will now miss the club's Sky Bet League 1 fixture at Oldham Athletic a week on Saturday (5 September 2015) as a result of the call-up.

England's Under 20s are due to play Czech Republic at Shrewsbury Town's New Meadow ground on Monday 7 September 2015.

Having already featured for England at Under 18 and Under 19 level, any game-time for Burke against Czech Republic at Shrewsbury will be his first involvement with the Under 20s.

Burke's call-up to England's Under 20s comes only a few days after fellow City loanee Lee Evans was named in Wales' Under 21s squad for their fixture in Luxembourg.

Like Burke, Evans is now also set to miss the Oldham fixture due to his forthcoming international duties.
