The Bantams showed exactly the levels of determination and desire Phil Parkinson had been asking for pre-match as City picked up a battling goalless draw at Barnsley.

With new loanee signings Lee Evans and Reece Burke in the side, City seem to grow stronger as the match wore on and could perhaps feel themselves slightly aggrieved not to have snuck all three points.

Parkinson's men were the side on the front foot for most of the final 20-25 minutes of the contest but they couldn't force a goal in front of their vocal away support.

Although City enjoyed a purple patch in the latter stages, their best chance of the afternoon arguably came midway through the second period when Steven Davies fired wide after bursting through clear on goal.

As the hosts, Barnsley did have spells of their own in the contest but a disciplined defensive display from a resolute City side came them at bay.

Tykes defender Alfie Mawson nearly snatched the points in injury time when hit the post with the final attack of the game after connecting with a header from a wide free-kick deep in injury time.

Any late drama would have been extremely harsh on Parkinson's side after an improving display from the Bantams.
