PITCH WORK TO BEGIN AT THE END OF THE SEASON

30 April 2015

Renovation work on the playing surface at the Coral Windows Stadium will begin in the middle of next month.

Contractors working on behalf of the club are scheduled to start on the Valley Parade pitch on 13 May. The work to improve and redevelop City's pitch is expected to finish ten days later on 22 May.

The pitch will undergo a process known as 'koroing' before roughly 200 tones of fibre sand is laid. Work to improve pitch drainage in two specific areas will also take place.

Koroing is where the top layer of the pitch is removed to help with drainage and grass growth. Fibre sand is normally used to help with drainage as well while also improving the stability of the turf itself.
