With Alan Sheehan suspended and James Hanson, Matthew Dolan and Andrew Davies, Parkinson has named apprentices Sam Wright, James King and Reece Webb-Foster on his bench.
Shot-stopper Ben Williams, who can list Colchester as one of his former clubs, is also among City's substitutes after missing the midweek win at MK Dons due to illness.
