ASIAN COACH QASIM AKHTAR MAKING HIS MARK

20 November 2014

Local teenager Qasim Akhtar has received national coverage for his coaching efforts after setting up his own junior football club.

Qasim, aged only 15 at the time, raised a remarkable £3,500 to help begin 'BD7 United' - an 11-a-side junior football team. He also took on several important key roles such as team secretary, manager and welfare officer to get the project off the ground.

Along with his work with BD7 United, Qasim is also currently undertaking the Futsal & Education programme at Bradford City - a project which is run by the club's community foundation department at the Coral Windows Stadium.

His inspiring story has now been told in an article featuring on The F.A's official website. Supporters can click on the link HERE to read the full article.
