PRESTON IN LEAGUE 1 NEXT SEASON

16 May 2014

City will play against Preston North End in Sky Bet League 1 next season after the Lilywhites' loss at the hands of Rotherham United in the Play-Off semi finals this Thursday evening.

After drawing with Rotherham 1-1 in the first leg, Preston fell to a 3-1 defeat on the night at the New York Stadium, losing 4-2 on aggregate, to ensure they will stay in the League 1 for another season.

Rotherham now move onto Wembley Stadium for the grand final to play Leyton Orient for a place in the Championship for the 2014/2015 campaign.

Preston's loss in the Play-Offs means Phil Parkinson's men now know twenty-one of the teams (please see below) who will help to make up their fixture schedule for next season.

The only places left to fill will be taken up by the losing League 1 Play-Off finalist and the winner of the League 2 Play-Offs.
