FORMER CHELSEA STAR TO FEATURE ON SATURDAY

23 May 2014

Monkou to feature tomorrow!

The club can confirm the late addition of Ken Monkou to Saturday's Play it like a pro event.

The Dutch former centre half will take the managerial role of 'The Bantams' the side who will sport the away strip during tomorrow's fixture and he is also likely to play in the game at some point also.

A former Chelsea player of the year, the 49 year old began his career in his native Holland with Feyenoord before joining the Stamford Bridge club in 1989; he spent 3 years with The Blues before moving to Southampton in 1992 where he went on to feature prominently. For The Saints, Ken made close to 200 league appearances during a 7 year spell before a 1999 move to Huddersfield Town, though he retired shortly after in 2000.

Ken joins Wayne Jacobs, Luke O'Brien and Lee Elam in the list of former professionals to take part in the event alongside a host of amateur footballers - most of whom are Bradford City fans.

Remember entry into the game is free to all, so please come down and enjoy a fantastic occasion and get behind all the lads involved! Donation buckets will be available around the ground and programmes will be on sale at £2 each - All proceeds raised go towards the development of the club's academy.
