City played out an entertaining draw with Bristol City to ensure they picked up a point from their first home fixture of the new calendar year.
Bantams striker James Hanson gave City a dream start by firing them into the lead with less than sixty seconds on the clock. Hanson's opener was cancelled out just ten minutes later, however, when Scott Wagstaff found the far corner with an angled drive from just inside the area.
Chances fell the way of both sides, especially in the second half, but it was City, despite losing Ricky Ravenhill and Kyel Reid to injury, who created some of the game's better openings.
Garry Thompson fired wide on the stroke of half-time after being played into space inside the area by Hanson while Oliver McBurnie, who was making his second start for the club, forced visiting 'keeper Elliot Parish into a decent save with his legs after a purposeful run from the young striker.
The closest City came to finding a winner came just over twenty minutes from the end when Gary Jones hit the inside of the post after fizzing in a fierce rising drive from outside the area.
Bristol City also hit the woodwork after the restart when the dangerous Jay Emmanuel-Thomas crashed a looping half-volley from just outside the box against Jon McLaughlin's far post.

The ball breaks into Sam Baldock's path but the striker's side-footed effort from just inside the area is repelled by McLaughlin before Matthew Bates hooks the loose ball out for a throw-in. 14min:
Ricky Ravenhill appears to have picked up a slight problem while turning to make a pass in midfield. The midfielder looks set to carry on, however, for the time being. 15min:

Thompson has a great chance to fire City back in the lead! A neat flick forward off the boot from Hanson finds Thompson in space in the box and in behind Bristol City's defence. As the ball bounces up into Thompson's path for him to have a shot though, the presence of a recovering Cunningham seems to affect the winger and he can only slice an effort wide of goal. 45min:
