De Vita on the road back

6 February 2014

Bantams boss Phil Parkinson has revealed that Italian winger Raffaele De Vita is now back in training and close to making a return to first team contention.

De Vita has been sidelined since late December with a thigh injury. He had hoped to make a comeback a couple of weeks ago but a slight set-back in his recovery caused further frustration for the former Swindon Town man.

With De Vita now back on the training pitch, however, Parkinson believes the Rome-born attacker can play his part in City's remaining fixtures this season.

Parkinson said: "Raf is back in training, which is obviously good to see.

"Sometimes with an injury, you can get 95% of it right but it is just that final 5% that can take longer than anticipated. This is what has happened with Raf.

"We have eased him back in this week because he is an important player to us.

"He gives us great quality in wide areas and he always has the ability to get a goal.

"If you look at his goals and assists with Swindon last season, we feel Raf can finish this season strongly."
