Club announce ban on e-cigarettes

19 February 2014

The football club confirm a ban on the use of e-cigarettes within the Coral Windows Stadium.

The majority of clubs in the Premier and Football League extend the smoking ban within their stadium to the use of e-cigarettes.

At Bradford City a different approach has been tried so far this season.

With no outright ban of the devices, the club has in the past merely asked if supporters could refrain from using them.

.  banning the use of e-cigarettes in the stadium with immediate effectAfter a number of recent problems, however, the club has now decided to fall into line with the majority of other clubs by

The major problem in using the device is that, from a distance, it looks like supporters are smoking real cigarettes and this encourages others to break the law by lighting up in the stadium.

The second problem is that some fans have been abusive to stewards when they have been asked not to use the devices.

So, from this Saturday’s home game with Milton Keynes Dons, the use of e-cigarettes will be banned within the Coral Windows Stadium. Anyone found using the devices within the confines of the stadium will be ejected.

Supporters are also reminded of the total ban on smoking within the stadium.
