THE BEARD IS GONE!

18 December 2014

After four months of sponsored growing, the magnificent Andrew Davies barmy beard is no more!

Davies decided back in August to go unshaven until his 30th birthday in a bid to raise money for BantamsTrek - a charity set up by City kit man John 'G-Man' Duckworth.

The popular centre half agreed to grow his beard over the prolonged period in the hope that City fans would show their support towards him and donate what they could to Bantamstrek.

After last shaving his face following the pre-season friendly against Hartlepool United, Davies was finally able to get the trimmers back out on Wednesday - his 30th birthday.

The picture below shows what Andrew looked like early this week before his big trim - some difference!

Bantamstrek have helped to raise funds for the football club itself, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Bradford Burns Unit through a large number of various charity challenges, such as a sponsored walk from the Coral Windows Stadium to Lincoln City's Sincil Bank over the course of New Year's Eve and New Year's Day 2010/2011.

Bantams supporters can find out more information on Bantamstrek and how they can still donate money towards Andrew's recent sponsored beard growth by clicking  HERE.
