THREE CHEERS FOR THE THREE PEAKERS!

22 August 2014

A selection of City supporters braved mixed weather conditions last Sunday (17 August 2014) to complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge for charity.

Eight City fans, plus Bantams Club Shop manager Paul Stevens, all walked the famous three peaks - Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough - to help raise funds for Bantamstrek - a charity set up by City kit man John Duckworth.

All nine completed the walk in under ten hours - a highly respectable time for a challenge of this nature.

The Bantamstrek charity looks to give money to Macmillian Cancer Support, while also making donations to the Burns Unit and Bradford City itself.

The nine fundraisers were:

Jamie Rhodes

Aaron Doree

Adrian Payne

Paul Stevens

David Green

Fintan O’Malley

Rebecca Neal

Brian Savage

Tim Rogers

The group were ably supported by Paul Stevens' wife, Vicky, plus Club Chiropodist Russell Kenningham.

This year's Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge was the fourth on the trot to be organised by John and his Bantamstrek charity.

The three peaks walk is just one of a number of charity fundraisers set up by John and his team over the last few months, with City central defender Andrew Davies is currently taking part in a sponsored beard growth for Bantamstrek.

City supporters can find out more about the Bantamstrek charity and their various fundraising events by visiting their official website HERE.
