EARLY LEEDS TIE TEAM NEWS

25 August 2014

Following the confirmation of Andrew Davies' broken arm sustained in Saturday's home fixture with Peterborough United, Irish defender Alan Sheehan - a former Leeds United player - is expected to play in central defence in Wednesday's Capital One Cup Round 2 tie.

In front of the Sky Sports cameras and an expected bumper Coral Windows Stadium crowd, Phil Parkinson's Bantams are scheduled to take on near neighbours Leeds for a place in the third round of the Capital One Cup.

With Sheehan likely to move across into central defence alongside Rory McArdle, Australian left James Meredith could return back into the side as a result.

French defender Christopher Routis is another option available to Parkinson though should he decide to stick with Sheehan at left back instead.

After missing City's last three fixtures with a hamstring problem, Billy Clarke could be involved in Parkinson's squad for the Leeds tie.

Fellow striker Mason Bennett won't be included, however, unless parent club Derby County give City permission to play the loanee attacker in the cup tie.

Jordan Pickford will definitely miss out due to Sunderland's decision not to allow the Bantams to use him in cup games, meaning Ben Williams or Matt Urwin will play in goal in his place for Parkinson's side.
