BACK THE BEARD!

5 August 2014

City defender Andrew Davies has agreed to take part in a sponsored beard growth over the coming months to help raise funds for the Bantamstrek charity group.

Davies will grow a beard over the next four months in the hope that City fans will show their support towards the popular centre half and donate what they can to Bantamstrek.

The 29 year old, who went clean-shaven on Saturday night after the Hartlepool United friendly for the charity fundraiser, will grow his beard until 17 December this year - the day of his 30th birthday.

The Bantamstrek charity was set up by club kit man John Duckworth back in 2010. Bantamstrek have helped to raise funds for the football club itself, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Bradford Burns Unit through a large number of various charity challenges, such as a sponsored walk from the Coral Windows Stadium to Lincoln City's Sincil Bank over the course of New Year's Eve and New Year's Day 2010/2011.

Bantams supporters can find out more information on Bantamstrek and how to donate towards Davies' sponsored beard grow by clickingHERE.
