Bantams striker Nahki Wells has been named the Sky Bet League 1 Player of the Month for August.
Wells, who fought off competition from Coventry City's Callum Wilson, Colchester United defender Magnus Okuonghae and Leyton Orient's Romain Vincelot, has been given the award after making an effortless step up in class following promotion with five goals in as many matches.
Highlights from the month for Wells include netting City's first of the season at Bristol City and his match-winning double over Sheffield United just under two weeks ago.
Upon hearing about his Player of the Month award, Wells said: "I am happy with my start to the season and the way I have been playing, and to get this award to top it all off is great.
"I can't look too forward just because of this award, but I will be trying as hard as ever to get more goals for Bradford and hopefully put myself up for another of these awards.
"I was delighted just to be a nominee, so to actually win the award is great.
"Without my team-mates though and the way they have been playing, none of this would be possible for me.
"This award helps to show that not only has Nahki Wells started the season well, so has Bradford City.
"Without the rest of the team, I wouldn't be getting this award."
Bantams manager Phil Parkinson added: “This award is thoroughly deserved and a just reward for Nahki’s brilliant efforts.
"We are all delighted by the way Nahki has started the season and by the amount of goals he has scored at such an early stage of the year.
“I am sure Nahki will be keen to kick on now and keep improving further.”
Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins said: “Nahki Wells has carried on the form that fired Bradford to Play Off Final ecstasy and into this season’s Sky Bet League One.
“This included a brace in the derby victory over Sheffield United which has cemented the Bantams strong start to the season.”
In the Sky Bet Championship, Huddersfield striker James Vaughan was named Sky BetPlayer of the Month.
The Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month Award went to Chesterfield striker Gary Roberts.
