A big thank you to Shelf Bantams

1 October 2013

The football club and its youth department would like to pass on their gratitude to the members of the Shelf Bantams supporters club for their fundraising efforts this Monday (30 September 2013) evening.

Held in The Shoulder of Mutton in Shelf itself, the Shelf Bantams hosted an evening with former Burnley, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Huddersfield Town attacker Steve Kindon this Monday to help raise funds for City's youth development programme.

Along with a number of City supporters, the Bantams' Head of Youth Development Peter Horne and Youth Team manager Steve Thornber were in attendance for the evening.

Other members of the academy team, including Graeme Kennedy, Malcolm Butterfield and Louis Horne, also showed their support for the evening by visiting The Shoulder of Mutton.

It wasn't just members of the club's youth set-up who attended the event though, with City skipper Gary Jones and defender Stephen Darby on hand as well to chat to fans.

The club, in particular Peter Horne, would again like to thank Terry Dickinson, Colin Boyes and the rest of the Shelf Bantams group for their efforts on Monday.

The evening eventually raised over £1,000. Part of the money raised will go to sponsor two members of City's youth team, who have started their season by winning their first SIX games on the trot.
