Bantams skipper Gary Jones says City are desperate to make amends in this Sunday's televised home clash with Coventry City following last weekends' F.A Cup exit at the hands of Rotherham United.

Jones admits that the players feel they have let the fans down after the comprehensive defeat to Rotherham in City's F.A Cup first round encounter with the Millers at New York Stadium.

City's encounter with Coventry will be broadcast live on Sky Sports this Sunday, and Jones is targeting the game as a chance for the Bantams to get back on form.

With the Premiership and Championship taking a break this weekend due to international fixtures, City’s match with Coventry at the Coral Windows Stadium will be the ONLY match played this Sunday in any of the four English professional divisions.

Although another plentiful crowd is expected at Valley Parade for the match, the fact that Sunday's game will be the only one of the day should also ensure that there will be a number of interested spectators across the country watching the game through their TVs as well.

Jones isn't too bothered about the extra viewing public and any added expectation that might go with it though, he simply wants to help City get back to winning ways once again.

The Bantams captain said: "Rotherham was a massively disappointing game for us and we want to bounce back this Sunday.

"We let ourselves down and we let the supporters down at Rotherham.

"Our supporters work their socks off all week to allow them to pay to come and watch us perform.

"If I was a supporter in our away end last Saturday, I would have been very disappointed by the way we performed.

"We have a chance now, however, to put it right on Sunday.

"In front of the television cameras, a national audience and probably another bumper Valley Parade crowd, we have the opportunity to put some wrongs right.

"It is always nice for the club to get a bit of extra exposure in front of the cameras, but our main incentive is to put last weekend's disappointing result behind us.

"The quicker we can do that the better.

"No one in this squad likes getting beat, especially in the manner we did at Rotherham when we let everyone down.

"The manager and fans have put a lot of faith in us as players and shown us a lot of support - Sunday is a chance to repay some of that."
