Gold and black for Wembley

8 May 2013

Phil Parkinson's men will be wearing their gold and black away strips for the npower League 2 Play-Off Final with Northampton Town at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 18 May 2013.

City's change away from their tradition claret and amber colours is required due to opponents Northampton's all claret home shirts.

As per the regulations for Play-Off Finals, Northampton will be the side allowed to wear their home strip instead of the Bantams because they finished higher in the league than Parkinson's team.

City have twice previously played in gold and black against Northampton this season - once in the league, once in the F.A Cup - both times at the Cobblers' Sixfields Stadium.

It has also been confirmed that Hampshire official Keith Stroud will be the match referee for the final.

Stroud, who has officiated at League 2, League 1 and Championship level this season, most recently took charge of Hull City's dramatic 2-2 home draw with Cardiff City on the final day of the regular Championship season - a result that eventually helped the Tigers gain promotion to the Premier League.
