Additionally, The Football League will present the ‘Contribution to League Football’ Award to Peter Shilton to mark his achievement as the only man in its 125 year history to play more than 1000 league matches.
Tonight’s event is the 8th staging of The Football League’s annual celebration of its clubs and competitions. It takes place in Central London in front of a sell-out audience of 630 and awards include the npower Player of the Year in all three divisions, the Johnstone’s Paint Young Player of the Year and the Mitre Goal of the Year.
City's own skipper Gary Jones is, of course, up for the npower League 2 Player of the Year award.
