City's reserves recorded back-to-back victories for the first time this season with a home win over Chesterfield in the Central League this Monday afternoon.
With the game being played out in snowy conditions at the Coral Windows Stadium, goals from apprentice trio Louie Swain, Connor Erangey and Nathan Curtis were enough to hand the reserves a 3-1 victory over a Chesterfield side featuring first team squad members Danny Whitaker and Mark Randall.
The win is City's second on the trot in the Central League after last week's 4-0 success at Grimsby Town.
On top of the victory, another pleasing aspect to come out of City's second-string encounter with Spireites was the return of James Meredith.
The popular left back used this Monday's reserve match as an opportunity to make his comeback from a bout of glandular fever that had previously kept him off the pitch since his half-time substitution at Morecambe on New Year's Day.
The Australian full back played the whole first half before, as originally planned, he was replaced at the interval.
City's next reserve fixture is scheduled for this Wednesday (13 March 2013) at Hartlepool United.
