A late winner from Morecambe's Jordan Burrow sent City's reserves tumbling to their first defeat in five matches in the Central League this Tuesday evening.
Burrow 81st minute header secured a 2-1 victory for the hosts on a cold night at the Globe Arena.
City took the lead in the match through a strike from RIASA trialist Jae Yun Lee just before the half hour mark.
Morecambe equalised seven minutes before the interval via a fine 25 yard free-kick from Ryan Williams.
That looked to be the end of the scoring until Burrow popped up near the end to net all three points for the Shrimps.
