Huddersfield away in Capital One Cup

17 June 2013

City have been drawn away to near neighbours Huddersfield Town in the first round of the Capital One Cup.

The tie, a mouth-watering West Yorkshire derby, is City's first confirmed match of the 2013/2014 campaign ahead of the release of the club's league fixture list on Wednesday.

The match at Huddersfield's John Smith's Stadium will take place during the week commencing 5th August 2013 - most probably on Tuesday 6 August - and will act as City's second match of the season following their league opener the weekend before.

The game will also be City's first in the competition since their appearance in the Capital One Cup Final against Swansea City at Wembley Stadium back in February.

City's previous encounter with the Terriers came back in October 2011 when Phil Parkinson's side won at Huddersfield 4-3 on penalties in a Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie.

Ticket details for this highly anticipated tie will be announced in due course.
