Student Kieron Batey was on hand to help promote City's new coaching collaboration with Bradford College this Tuesday as the Bantams look to tap into a new area of young talent.
After catching the eye of City scouts while playing for Bradford College last season, Kieron, 17, has been rewarded with the chance to train with the Bantams' Youth Team throughout this (2013/2014) season.
Aiming to build on that recent success story, both City and Bradford College will be holding a special football trials day on Wednesday 14 August 2013 for anyone interested in trying to follow in Kieron's footsteps.
Participants of the trials do not have to already be a member of Bradford College, but any successful trialists will be invited to take a place in one of the college's various courses.
Once confirmed on a course, they will then make up part of Bradford College's pools of players for their college games throughout the forthcoming academic year.
Bradford College's games will be monitored by members of City's youth department with the idea being that the club will look to offer an opportunity similar to the one given to Kieron to any players who impress.
Any courses selected by those chosen players following the trials day do NOT have to feature football or sport in it. Like Kieron though, any college member who does get selected to train with City's Youth Team in the future will still be required to continue with their studies.
Course advisers from the college will be on hand during the trials day in August to give advice to trialists with regards which course might be best for them should they be selected.
Kieron, who will begin his time with City's apprentices from later this week, can be seen in the main article picture along with City's Director of Operations David Baldwin (far left), Head of Youth Development Peter Horne and former Bantams winger Mark Ellis (far right).
Ellis, who played for City for ten years between the years of 1980 and 1990, will help co-ordinate all football coaching undertaken at the college.
With the Bradford-born coach also involved in the club's partnership with the international football academy RIASA - another union with the aim of bringing young talent into the club - Ellis is ideally placed to smoothly link together City's connections with both RIASA and Bradford College.
Given the fact that any successful participants could eventually end up training with Bradford City's Youth Team, the trials on 14 August are open to male applicants only. You do not have to be in current full-time education to apply though.
Any applicants must be 16 or over by 1 September 2013 and still under 19 by 31 August 2013.

E-mails must include a person's full name, their date of birth, the current football club they play for (if applicable) and the name of the school they attended in Year 11.
ALL participants in the trials MUST apply beforehand. The club and Bradford College will not be able to entertain anyone who turns up on the day without prior notice.
All applications to take part in the trials day must be received by no later than Wednesday 7 August 2013.
