City’s stunning run in knockout football in 2012-13 has earned the club another award.
The Bantams’ 2-0 victory at npower League 2 rivals Port Vale in December ensured Phil Parkinson’s side claimed the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Northern Section Team of the Round prize for the Area Quarter-Finals.
Goals from Ritchie Jones and Craig Forsyth were enough to earn the Yorkshire club – who have, of course, also embarked on a sensational run to reach the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup this season – the nomination.
Leyton Orient caught the eye of the adjudication panel to claim the Southern Section award courtesy of a 3-0 victory at Northampton.
“With the prospect of a Wembley final getting closer all the time, the stakes are getting higher and there were a lot of good performances from the teams that progressed,” said Ben Wilde, Johnstone’s Paint Brand and Sponsorship Manager.
“But the results of both Bradford and Leyton Orient were eye-catching and they are worthy recipients of the awards.”
