Experienced referee Phil Dowd has been chosen to officiate City's crucial Capital One Cup Semi-Final Second Leg tie at Aston Villa next Tuesday.
Dowd, who has been a Premier League referee since 2001, has officiated the 2010 League Cup Final and last season's F.A Cup Final in the past.
The 49 year-old Staffordshire-born referee's previous match in charge of the Bantams was their trip to Brentford League 1 back in April 2006.
