Kick Off: 7.45pm

The Bantams returned to winning ways with a comprehensive away victory at in-form Wycombe Wanderers.

A first minute goal from Nathan Doyle - his first of the season - set City on their way before a fine second from Will Atkinson and a third from the spot from Doyle in the final ten minutes put the seal on a morale-boosting win.

On a pitch that played surprisingly well despite looking extremely soft under foot at first glance, City's perfect away-day performance ensured they fully justified their three-point haul against a side who had won nine out of their previous thirteen matches coming into the contest.

With Andrew Davies back in central defence for his first action since picking up a knee injury four months ago and Garry Thompson partnering Andy Gray in attack, Parkinson went into this Tuesday's rearranged fixture making five changes in total from Saturday's home match with Gillingham.

Parkinson's altered eleven got off to the perfect start in the contest when a long throw-in from the recalled Ryan Dickson was knocked down into the path of Doyle who was lurking just inside the area.

Taking on the ball first time, Doyle drilled a low volley past the clutches of Wycombe 'keeper Jordan Archer to fire City in front with less than 60 seconds on the clock.

Wycombe tried to rally after Doyle's early intervention but their best efforts were being competently dealt with by Davies and his defensive partners.

In fact, it was City who came closest to registering next when Garry Thompson rattled the underside of Archer's crossbar with a half-volley just past the hour mark.

With nine minutes of normal time remaining though, City did net their second of the evening thanks to fine build up play from Kyel Reid and substitute James Hanson.

Reid's clipped ball over the top allowed Hanson the space to flick the ball into the path of the on-rushing Atkinson, who drilled a fine low strike past Archer from just inside the area.

Less than two minutes later things got even better for City when Hanson narrowly beat Archer to a teasing forward ball from Stephen Darby before the striker was seemingly clipped from behind by Dave Winfield.

With regular penalty taker Nahki Wells watching the game from the bench as an unused substitute, Doyle took responsibility for the kick and coolly slotted home to seal victory for the Bantams.

On his comeback appearance, Davies was replaced near the end of the game by Carl McHugh, but it seems the move was only precautionary given the one-sided nature of the scoreline at that time.
