Hartlepool away in JPT

17 August 2013

City have been drawn away to Sky Bet League 2 side Hartlepool United in the first round of this season's Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

The cup draw took place this Saturday morning on the Sky Sports football-related show, Soccer AM.

The draw sees the Bantams scheduled to make their third trip to Hartlepool's Victoria Park in four seasons in the competition.

Phil Parkinson's men defeated Pools last season on penalties in the second round of the JPT on their way to making the Area Semi-Finals, while City narrowly lost out to the North-East side during the 2010/2011 campaign.

Pools are now managed by former Bantams assistant manager Colin Cooper, with City old boys Nialle Rodney and Jack Compton currently in his playing ranks.

Ties in the first round itself are scheduled to take place the week commencing 2 September.

Ticket details for the Hartlepool tie will be announced in due course.
