Defensive duo to be assessed

17 April 2013

City will need to check on the fitness of Andrew Davies and James Meredith after the defensive duo both limped out of Tuesday's Yorkshire derby defeat at the hands of Rotherham United.

Despite being deemed fit enough to start after missing out on Saturday's draw at Chesterfield, Davies had to come off halfway through the first half against the Millers following a recurrence of a calf complaint.

Meredith then joined Davies on the sidelines after the restart due to a nasty whack on his hip.

The pair will be assessed this Wednesday to see if they have any chance of featuring in City's final home match of the regular league season against Burton Albion on Saturday.

Bantams boss Phil Parkinson said: "Mez (James Meredith) is a tough lad. It takes a lot for him to come off but he was unable to continue.

"We have a few injuries but we have to patch ourselves up and get ready to go again because we are still in a fantastic position in the league going into Saturday."
