While Phil Parkinson's side defeated Burton Albion after extra time to book their place in this (Wednesday) evening's draw, Wigan secured their own spot in the hat with a 4-1 win at West Ham United.
The forthcoming tie will be the first time City have come up against top-flight opposition since playing West Bromwich Albion in this same competition back in September 2005.
The match will also be Bradford's first visit to Wigan since facing the Latics in the old Division One (now the Championship) in December 2003 - City's only previous trip to the DW Stadium.
The tie is scheduled to take place the week commencing 29th October 2012.
Ticket details for this tie will be confirmed in due course.
